Chevalier des arts et lettre for Barthelemy Toguo!

Bandjoun Station, Bandjoun, Cameroon
The Cameroonian artist Barthelemy Toguo who must be one of the most hardworking and brilliant contemporary artists today has just been awarded the "Chevalier des arts et lettres" (Knight of the Order of the Arts and Literature) by the French Government. The honorific, according to the French Ministry of Culture acknowledges personalities with distinguished achievements in art or literature, and who have contributed to the dissemination of culture in France and in the world. Does it mean I now have to call him "Sir Barthelemy!" Sounds great, right? Whatever, it is an important acknowledgment of the work this guy has done in the past 15 years or so. And that includes establishing that ambitious art and agricultural project in his hometown called Bandjoun Station. Can't wait to go see it!
