Help: Artists Groups in Africa since 1980

I am working on a book project and need information on important contemporary artists' groups established anywhere on the African continent since 1980. The group(s) need not be currently active. Anyone with useful information should contact me by end of December. I will appreciate any help!

ASAI is at an early stage in developing a digital archive with info on visual arts organisations, particularly community initiatives. The focus is currently on South African initiatives, preceding the 1990s. A taste of this can be had at www.asai.co.za (go to "archives" but note that website currently being redesigned, and the archives section is currently in search of a new name! Mario
